Rebecca, “Becky”, Dries. Becky has been a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health (LPCMH) in the state of Delaware since 2018. Becky received her Master of Science (MS) degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia (CACREP accredited program) in 2015. During her time at Mercer she was an active member of the Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic & Professional Honor Society International, Mu Upsilon Alpha Chapter. Becky is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) with the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). She is also a Delaware Credentialed Mental Health Screener (DE-CMHS).
Becky has 10 years of clinical experience working with a diverse population of adult clients of all ages. Becky specializes in working with individuals with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness diagnosis such as Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, etc., as well as providing crisis intervention. Becky is also experienced in working with Depression, Anxiety, Complex Trauma and individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community.
Becky is passionate about social justice issues and access to quality mental health treatment for all individuals, that is inclusive and multi-culturally informed. Becky approaches the counseling relationship primarily from a Person-Centered perspective and believes in meeting the client where they are and accepting them unconditionally. Upon working with a client, Becky tailors her approach based on the client's needs and incorporate elements of several therapeutic models including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy and Feminist Theory. Becky has also received training in DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and Trauma Informed therapy.
In her time outside of work, Becky enjoys practicing yoga, and spending time with her nieces and beloved dog and cat.
